As a coffee and latte lover myself, I was itching to do this set! I worked for Starbucks for a couple of years and, during that time, I mastered the latte art heart. I must say, it’s a lot easier to do with royal icing! This set also happens to be one of my favorite color schemes. The classic and cute style is perfect for so many ages and honestly, it was just so entertaining to make.
The set of cookie cutters was from The Pottery Barn, which I purchased on Black Friday for less than $5. Unfortunately, this perfect little set is no longer available but you can find a similar coffee mug cookie cutter here and a similar coffee cup (Starbucks style) here. The other cookie shapes can be easily made by hand cutting or using other common shapes.
The teal icing was created using Wilton “teal”, Sunny Side Up Bakery “sky blue”, and Sunny Side Up Bakery “ivory”.
The brown icings were created using my leftover teal icing with more Wilton “teal” added, Wilton “black”, and Wilton “orange”.
The airbrushing was done through cheesecloth that was inserted into The Stencil Genie by The Creative Cookier. If you plan on using stencils to decorate cookies, it’s a MUST HAVE. I dissolved a mixture of Wilton “black” and “brown” in a small amount of Everclear and used that to airbrush the detailing with my Duff Airbrush System.
